Obituary for George Gaitan

George Gaitan, 69, passed away the 18th of January 2018 at Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas after a short illness. His funeral service will be held this Friday, January 26, at 11am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4419 Main St., Houston, Texas 77009 followed by a reception at The Knights of Columbus Hall, 607 E. Whitney, Houston, TX 77022

George was born on 18th of January 1949 in Laredo, Texas to Jesus Gaitan and Magdalena Luna. He graduated from Davis High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1968-71 serving in Hawaii.

He moved back to Houston and married the love of his life Theresa. He is survived by his wife Theresa and children, Michael Ballesteros and his wife Rossana, Eric and Courtney Gaitan; mother-in-law Celistine Widacki; sister Hilda and sister-in-law Margret; grandchildren Pete, Zack, Michael, and Brandon Ballesteros; and great grandchildren Makaylynn Nicole, Zachery Dylan, Jaqueline Rose Ballesteros and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by his parents, brothers Raul and Hector; and his granddaughter Jackilyn Nicole Ramirez; and his father-in-law Valerine Widacki. He worked for St. Luke's and retired in 2015. His family paid this tribute to him, "George was the biggest Texans, Rockets, and Astros fan. He didn't miss a game. Most importantly, he enjoyed being with his family and friends drinking his Miller Lite Beer."
